The Work of Lisa Martin
March 31, 2016 – June 11, 2016
A long time resident of the Eastern Shore, Lisa Martin, has been dabbling in a variety of Fiber Arts since childhood. It was during college that she discovered the world of batiks. The drippy and unpredictable results of the hot wax were a major draw in helping her to create images. Through the years since she has returned to the art of batik both for herself and her classroom.
Lisa has taught a generation of Caroline County kids to love and create art having taught at all age levels in the art studio during her teaching career. Now in her retirement years she is taking her time to paint, travel, garden, photograph, and volunteer. Her artwork has been on display at the Foundry in Denton, FACES, Local Color at the Tidewater Inn, Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore exhibit, Adkins Arboretum Juried show, and many other shows and locations throughout the Eastern Shore. Visit her Facebook page at Lisa N Martin Art or find her work on ETSY.com at FoundryArtGallery.
