Join us on November 5, 2020 to celebrate black fiber art from around the Eastern Shore! We are proud to showcase a diverse range of talents including quilting, crochet, fashion and accessory design, collage, and more. The exhibit will feature creations made by local and regional artists, as well as heirloom pieces. The artwork will be on display at FACES from November 5, 2020 to December 31, 2020.

“Kuumba” means creativity in Swahili and is the sixth principle of Kwanzaa, an African American celebration of family, community, and culture. The purpose of kuumba is to use our creativity to enrich and beautify our communities. Kwanzaa was created by Dr. Maulana Karenga, an Eastern Shore native, in 1966 as part of the black liberation movements happening in the United States during that time. Kwanzaa occurs from December 26th to January 1st.
