How to Use Google Maps for a FACES Driving Tour
There is so much related to Fiber Arts and history to see and do on the Delmarva Peninsula. We hope our map driving tours will help you to find new and interesting shops, historical markers, and treasures.
Using Google Maps is an easy way to follow one of our Fiber Arts regional tours using your smart device’s navigation. Here are some helpful instructions:
For Google Chrome users:
- Make sure your are logged into your google account.
- Using your device’s web browser, navigate to Fiberartscenter.com and go to “See & Do” and select the map you want to follow. You can do this in advance of your trip.
- Click the star at the top of the map to save it to your Google Maps profile.
- Open the Google Maps app on your device. Make sure you are logged into the same Google account as your web browser.
- Click the menu icon at the upper left, and choose “Your Places.”
- Go to the map tab of Your Places and choose the name of the tour you want to follow
- Select one of the pins as your starting point, then click “Directions.” More information about the tour stops can be viewed by dragging the details up or down. (Pro tip: Avoid tapping the “x” on any part of the app. That closes the map. Use scrolling and arrows to move around in the app. If you accidentally close the map, just go back to Your Places and relaunch it)
For Google users not using Chrome: When you click on the star, you will be prompted to log into your Google account in order to save the map.
For all other users, first make sure Google Maps is installed on your device:
- When you are ready to drive, using your device’s web browser, navigate to Fiberartscenter.com and go to “See & Do” and select the map you want to follow.
- In the upper right corner, click on the box icon:
This will open the Google Maps app so you can use the navigation.
- Select one of the pins as your starting point, then click “Directions.” More information about the tour stops can be viewed by dragging the details up or down.
