FACES continues to operate in a Covid-19 conscious environment.  We require all of our unvaxed visitors to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Our current days and hours are Wednesday, 12-4:00pm, Thursday, 12-4:00pm, Friday, 12-4:00pm and Saturday, 12-4:00pm.

For other days, if you would like to schedule a tour or make an appointment,
please contact:
410-253-9716 (Victoria) or 410-829-5136 (Kay).

Dear Members,

May is a month of growth and renewal as spring bursts on to the Eastern Shore.  Pat Tucker has a lovely show featuring some of her collection of antique quilts and also some of her own amazing work.

Nine new classes are on our schedule.  The front flower beds have been planted along with the rail flower boxes, porch flower pots and raised beds for growing cotton.  Another raised bed has indigo, madder and red amaranth for our new experiments in natural dyes.

Kay has just renewed our collection of fabrics and books for sale.  We want to thank our wonderful members without whose enthusiastic support, we could not have made the growth that we have.  And we are so excited about what the future holds!

Please take care of yourself and each other,

Victoria McConnell

From May 4-July 2, the Fiber Arts Center of the Eastern Shore will be featuring the Patricia Tucker Quilt Exhibit: For the Love of Quilts- The Stories Behind the Stitches.”

Mrs. Tucker is a local quilter who belongs to the Heartland Quilt Guild and has been quilting for over 30 years. She believes that every quilt has its own story. She feels that as much as our Creator leaves His mark on each of us, a quilt-maker’s life and circumstances are often woven within the details of their renderings. She loves the mystery involved in revealing clues and insights found within the stitches and takes great joy in pondering the who’s, what’s, when’s, where’s, how’s and why’s of each maker and piece; many times discovering the extraordinary among the ordinary!

Come join us to enjoy viewing these legacies and pondering the stories
behind the stitches!

Follow-up  To  The

The 49th Annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival May 7 & 8, 2022.

Your weekend Fiber Arts Center volunteer, Kathleen McCulloch, attended the Saturday event with zillions of intrepid wool devotees (including her sister, Sarah McCulloch who drove down from New York State).  In spite of hard-blowing winds, cold temperatures and heavy rain downpours,  it was absolutely wonderful!  Below are a few shots of my fabulous day stomping about in the mud, dashing in and out of vendor tents, shivering while watching the border collies demonstrate their herding skills, seeing sheep being lovingly groomed for the ring and not to forget, the best sausage and pepper sub that has ever been created!
