Weaving a Common Bond by Heidi Wetzel & Wende Woodham
On Display January 17 thru March 17 2013
Thursday thru Saturday from 9am – 4pm
Our newest exhibit “Weaving a Common Bond” began on January 17, 2013, and features work from Fiber Artists Wende Woodham and Heidi Wetzel. The exhibit will be on display until March 17, 2013.
“Heidi Wetzel is an award-winning local fiber artist. She originally came from Germany as a teenager and now lives and weaves in Easton, Maryland. Her work reflects the beauty she sees in the world around her. Using unique materials she likes to mix textures and patterns. The finished results form wall hangings, wrapped vases, ceramic bowls enshrouded by fiber, and interpretive abstract pieces inspired by nature.” For more information, visit her website at heidiwetzel.com
“Wende L. Woodham creates beautifully woven “quilt-like” ribbon and fiber pieces from her home studio on Kent Island. There is wonderful creativity in her unique use of colors, textures, and weaving patterns. Her one of a kind “woven pictures” are constructed from her large collection of ribbons and trims from around the world, with some designed by the artist herself. Her designs are very personal and always refreshingly different.” For more information visit her website at ribbonsacrossthechesapeake.com.
