Join the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce for an Open House Event with the Fiber Arts Center of the Eastern Shore for a reception on Thursday, February 15th from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at the Fiber Arts Center, 7 N. 4th St., Denton, MD.

The WPA Reproduction Quilt Exhibit is curated by Elizabeth Pauley Teletsky of the Olde Kent Quilters Guild, Chestertown, Md and is being showcased at the Fiber Arts Center at the Open House Reception and we can’t wait to have you view these stunning quilts!

Quilters were among the artists and artisans employed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) between 1935 and 1942 as part of the Roosevelt Administration’s Second New Deal.

In 1989, The WPA Museum Extension Project, Langhorne, PA, was researched and published by the Variable Star Quilt Guild and the Generational Resources Exchange. The product of their research included 30 quilt designs.
